What it is

The core business: about 148,000 square foot warehouses carrying fewer than 4,000 active SKUs in the core warehouse format, sold to members who pay an annual fee. Merchandise covers groceries, household goods, electronics, apparel and Kirkland Signature products, with a large share of sales from food and sundries.

Why it matters to the stock. Traffic and sales per warehouse drive comparable sales, the main measure of growth. Warehouse count and member growth set the pace of every other line.
