Johnson & Johnson is a health-care company with two segments: Innovative Medicine, which sells prescription medicines in oncology, immunology, neuroscience and cardiovascular, and MedTech, which sells surgical, orthopaedic, cardiovascular, vision and electrophysiology devices. Fiscal 2025 worldwide sales were $94.2 billion, up 6.0%. In the second quarter of 2026 sales were $25.3 billion, up 6.6% reported, and the company raised its 2026 outlook to $100.8-101.4 billion of reported sales and $11.60-11.75 of adjusted EPS. Management says 2026 would be the first $100 billion sales year in its history.
How it makes money
J&J earns most of its revenue from patented medicines sold to hospitals, wholesalers and payers, led by DARZALEX, CARVYKTI and newer launches such as ICOTYDE and INLEXZO. Its MedTech segment sells devices and surgical products to hospitals and surgeons. Patent-protected drugs drive margins, while Stelara and other older products face biosimilar erosion, which the company offsets with new launches and acquisitions such as Intra-Cellular Therapies and Halda Therapeutics.
