What it is

RISE is a CFM International program (GE Aerospace and Safran) to build an open-fan engine with an unducted fan, aimed at a fuel burn at least 20% lower than engines in service today. Preliminary design reviews of the fan blades and outlet guide vanes are complete, and mechanical and material tests are running.

Why it matters to the stock. If the open-fan design works, it could be the next generation of narrow-body engines after the LEAP. Trading the stock on RISE alone makes little sense because the flight test date is still unset.
