Once-weekly islatravir and lenacapavir (HIV treatment)
Phase 3 ISLEND-1 and ISLEND-2 met the Week 48 endpoint. Global filings are planned; no FDA date is set.
What it is
A once-weekly oral single tablet combining islatravir and lenacapavir for HIV treatment, developed with Merck. In ISLEND-1, people with suppressed HIV switched from Biktarvy, and in ISLEND-2 they switched from other standard daily regimens. Both trials showed the combination was non-inferior at Week 48.
Why it matters to the stock. This is the next HIV treatment candidate after Biktarvy, and it moves the franchise from a daily pill toward a weekly one.
