Monthly revenue report (TSMC style)
A monthly sales figure that Taiwan-listed companies publish early in the following month, giving an early read on quarterly results.
Taiwan exchange rules require listed companies to publish monthly revenue, generally by the 10th of the following month. TSMC publishes its figure this way. The number is unaudited, is usually reported in New Taiwan dollars, and is typically shown with month-over-month and year-over-year changes.
Traders care because monthly revenue is the earliest official read on quarterly revenue for many Taiwan-listed suppliers. The three months of a quarter sum to the quarterly figure, with some differences from exchange-rate moves and timing. Compare the running total with the company's guidance range.
Worked example (illustrative numbers, not real data): monthly revenue of 300, 320 and 340 (in an illustrative currency unit) sums to 960 for the quarter. That would sit within a guidance range of 950 to 980.
