3.42%year-on-year2026-08-01 · level 131.58
Index 2017=100, seasonally adjusted → year-on-year
Why it matters
The Fed's 2% inflation target is defined on PCE prices. Because most inputs are known from CPI and PPI, the release is usually well forecast, but surprises move rate expectations.
Release schedule: Monthly in the Personal Income and Outlays report, 8:30 am ET, near month-end (BEA)
