Alibaba makes 2.4-trillion-parameter Qwen3.8-Max generally available

Alibaba moved its Qwen3.8-Max flagship from preview to general availability on August 3, 2026, through Alibaba Cloud Model Studio for global developers. The model has 2.4 trillion total parameters, about 95 billion of them active per inference, and a context window of up to 1 million tokens. Alibaba cites fifth place in the Text Arena and second in the Vision Arena, and said open weights would follow the next week.
