OpenAI signs multi-year deal for up to 750 MW of Cerebras compute

OpenAI and Cerebras announced a multi-year agreement under which OpenAI will buy up to 750 megawatts of Cerebras high-speed inference compute, delivered in tranches through 2028. The value was not disclosed by the companies; people familiar with the matter put it at more than $10 billion at the time. Cerebras later described the agreement in its IPO filing as valued at more than $20 billion, which makes it the anchor of the company's contracted backlog.
