da Vinci SP gets CE mark for transvaginal gynecologic procedures in Europe

Europe's CE mark now covers the da Vinci SP single-port system for transvaginal gynecologic procedures, which the company describes as a world first for the platform. The mark extends an existing European approval that covered abdominopelvic, thoracoscopic, transoral otolaryngology, transanal colorectal and breast procedures. The SP installed base reached 445 systems after second-quarter placements of 38, up from 23 a year earlier.
