Novo Nordisk launches the Wegovy pill in the US

Novo Nordisk started selling its once-daily oral semaglutide tablet for weight management to US patients on 5 January 2026. It is the first GLP-1 weight-loss pill on the US market and opens obesity treatment to people who do not want injections. Early sales were lifted by pre-launch stocking by wholesalers and telehealth partners, so the first quarter overstates steady demand.
