Sandisk and SK hynix publish first High Bandwidth Flash specification through OCP
Sandisk and SK hynix released the first open specification for High Bandwidth Flash (HBF), a stacked NAND memory product aimed at AI inference. The spec covers packages up to 512 GB with three bandwidth grades from about 0.4 TB/s to 3.0 TB/s over UCIe, and is designed to sit alongside HBM rather than replace it. Sandisk has not given a volume production date, so the spec is a standardization step rather than a near-term revenue event.
- Capacity: stacks up to 512 GB
- Bandwidth grades: about 0.4 TB/s to 3.0 TB/s
- Interface: UCIe
- Sandisk has not announced a volume production date
