Court lets core antitrust claims by Sezzle against Shopify proceed

A federal judge in Minnesota granted in part and denied in part Shopify's motion to dismiss Sezzle's antitrust suit. The monopolization and restraint-of-trade claims can proceed, and a narrower tying claim was dismissed without prejudice, so it can be refiled. Sezzle alleges Shopify steered shoppers to Shop Pay Installments and charged 1% to 2% penalty fees on third-party BNPL transactions. Sezzle says the ruling is procedural and not a finding of liability.
