Walmart plans more than 650 store remodels and about 20 new stores through early 2027

Walmart said it has more than 650 Supercenter and Neighborhood Market remodels planned, plus about 20 new stores for 2026 and early 2027. Five new stores have already opened this year. The company is also testing faster remodels that close a store floor for four weeks while keeping pharmacy and fuel open.
