Salesforce launches Agent Fabric, a control plane for managing agents from multiple vendors

Salesforce introduced Agent Fabric, a governance layer meant to discover, orchestrate and monitor AI agents across vendors and platforms. It bundles an AI gateway for model routing and cost control, identity controls that let agents act only with specific user permissions, and approval rules for high-risk actions. Governance features are generally available now, while deterministic orchestration (Agent Broker) was in beta from April with general availability planned for June.

  • Governance pieces (AI Gateway, MCP Bridge, Trusted Agent Identity) generally available at launch
  • Supports models from Salesforce, OpenAI and Gemini, and discovery of agents on Amazon Bedrock and Microsoft Foundry
  • Agent Broker deterministic orchestration: beta from April 2026, general availability planned for June 2026
  • Customers cited at launch include Capita, Alcon and Diabsolut
