Kioxia and Sandisk unveil 10th-generation QLC flash with up to 60% higher bit density
On August 4, 2026, at the Future of Memory and Storage show, Kioxia and Sandisk unveiled a 10th-generation QLC 3D flash technology. The companies say it delivers up to a 60% increase in bit density over their 8th generation and exceeds 37 Gb/mm2. Higher density lets the same wafer output more capacity, which supports the data-center SSD business.
- Technology: 10th-generation QLC 3D flash from Kioxia and Sandisk
- Bit density up to 60% higher than the 8th generation
- Density reported above 37 Gb/mm2
- Shown at FMS 2026, August 4-6, Santa Clara
