Visa Direct to connect to UnionPay's MoneyExpress for payouts into mainland China

Visa announced at Web Summit Qatar that Visa Direct will link its global network to UnionPay International's MoneyExpress platform. Clients could then send cross-border remittances and business-to-consumer payouts into Chinese Mainland through one connection. Visa said the link would reach more than 95% of UnionPay International debit cardholders in the mainland, with availability expected in the first half of 2026.
