NVIDIA agrees to acquire Hugging Face for $12.93B and pledges an open platform

NVIDIA agreed on September 3, 2026 to acquire Hugging Face for $12,930,300,000, according to a blog post by Jensen Huang. Huang said Hugging Face will stay open to the whole AI ecosystem, and that NVIDIA compute will not be required to build on or deploy through the platform. The companies expect the deal to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
