EIA: US LNG terminals near full capacity; EU storage ended winter at 28%
The EIA said US LNG terminals ran at about 94% of maximum approved export levels in March 2026, which limits how much more gas the US can ship abroad. Only about 2.4 Bcf/d of new capacity was expected between April and December 2026, and the DOE had approved two export increases since February. European gas storage finished winter at 28% full against a five-year average of 41%, which implies heavy spot buying.
