TSMC closes above NT$2,500 for first time as Taiex hits record 47,741.51

TSMC rose NT$100, or 4.15%, to NT$2,510 on June 22, 2026, its first close above NT$2,500. The Taiex closed at a record 47,741.51, up 1,276.31 points, after an intraday gain of as much as 1,405.99 points. A PineBridge fund manager said AI-related companies make up more than 80% of the MSCI Taiwan Index, so the local market moves with AI chip stocks.
