Freeport LNG plans major maintenance from July 10 to late August, cutting LNG export feedgas

On July 9, 2026 Freeport LNG told Reuters it would start major maintenance at its Texas export plant on July 10 and run it through late August. Traders expected LNG export flows to stay low through late August, which removes demand for US gas and was cited in the same session's 4.3% drop in the August Henry Hub contract. For natural gas traders this is a bearish summer driver that lasts until the plant returns.
