Tomahawk Ultra was announced July 15, 2025 as a 51.2 Tbps switch with 250 ns latency. Broadcom later described it as in production volume, without a separate date.

What it is
A low-latency Ethernet switch for scale-up connections inside AI and HPC systems, where accelerators talk to each other directly rather than across a data-center network. Tomahawk Ultra is a separate family from the Tomahawk 6 scale-out switch.
Why it matters to the stock. Scale-up bandwidth and latency decide how well a rack of accelerators acts as one system. This product competes for the same XPU rack designs that drive the AI semiconductor line.
