Acquired in April 2026. It supplies laser communication terminals for the SDA satellites Rocket Lab builds.
What it is
Mynaric makes optical (laser) communication terminals that let satellites send data to each other at high speed. Rocket Lab already supplied its CONDOR Mk3 terminals for the Space Development Agency program before buying the company.
Why it matters to the stock. Owning the laser links lets Rocket Lab sell a more complete satellite, with its own communication hardware built in, and it cuts reliance on outside suppliers for a key SDA component.
