HAMR roadmap to 10TB per disk
Seagate has a roadmap toward 10TB per disk. It has not given a launch date.
What it is
The next step after Mozaic 4+: higher areal density per platter, aiming for capacities beyond the current 44TB drives. Seagate describes it as a roadmap item and has not set a date for a 10TB-per-disk product.
Why it matters to the stock. Each step up in capacity per platter lowers the cost per terabyte, which is how Seagate keeps its data center price per terabyte falling while it competes with flash storage and rival HDD makers.
