Boeing CEO says 777X testing may slip into 2027 over GE9X engine issue

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg told a Morgan Stanley conference that some 777X testing may spill into 2027. The delay is tied to a GE9X engine durability problem first identified in January, which required more testing than planned. Boeing still expects first 777X deliveries in 2027, and until the engine issue is resolved the jet cannot fly over oceans or far from airports under ETOPS rules.
