Five-year Phase 2b melanoma data: intismeran plus KEYTRUDA cuts recurrence risk 49%
Moderna and Merck presented five-year Phase 2b data for intismeran autogene plus KEYTRUDA at ASCO, showing a 49% lower risk of recurrence or death than KEYTRUDA alone in 157 patients with high-risk melanoma. The combination also cut the risk of distant metastasis or death by 59%. Overall survival showed only an encouraging, non-significant trend, so the study is supportive rather than conclusive.
- Recurrence-free survival hazard ratio 0.51 (95% CI 0.294 to 0.887), a 49% reduction
- Distant metastasis-free survival hazard ratio 0.411, a 59% reduction
- Overall survival hazard ratio 0.471 (95% CI 0.165 to 1.345), exploratory and not significant
- 157 patients in the randomized Phase 2b KEYNOTE-942 trial
