Astera Labs launches 320-lane Scorpio X-Series fabric switch for AI scale-up networks
Astera Labs introduced the Scorpio X-Series, a 320-lane smart fabric switch that it calls the largest open, memory-semantic fabric switch of its type. It adds hardware Hypercast and in-network compute engines, which the company says speed up collective operations by up to 2x. The same release expanded the Scorpio P-Series PCIe 6 family to cover 32 to 320 lanes.
- Scorpio X-Series: 320 lanes, shipping into the merchant scale-up switch market
- Production ramp expected in the second half of 2026
- Company claim: up to 2x faster collective operations, measured as at least 50% lower AllReduce latency versus ring AllReduce
- Scorpio P-Series now spans 32 to 320 lanes; broader volume ramps targeted for 2027
