AMD to acquire Taalas, a custom AI inference silicon startup

AMD announced it will acquire Taalas, a Toronto-based company founded in 2023 that makes specialized AI inference silicon. AMD plans to fold the technology into its Instinct accelerator roadmap and system-level products.
