Musk confirms Model S and X custom orders have ended; about 600 units left

Musk posted on X on April 1, 2026 that custom orders for the Model S and Model X had come to an end. EV-CPO data cited by Electrek put remaining new inventory at about 600 vehicles worldwide, nearly all in the US. The announcement closes the order book for the two models ahead of the Fremont line conversion.
