Tesla pushes five-city robotaxi target to 'preparations underway'

Tesla's Q1 2026 update replaced a first-half 2026 timeline for Phoenix, Miami, Orlando, Tampa and Las Vegas with the vaguer 'preparations underway' wording. The chart heading also changed from 'Planned Robotaxi Coverage' to 'Announced Near-Term Planned Robotaxi Coverage'. Electrek read it as a slip in the expansion schedule.

• Five cities moved off a 1H 2026 timeline: Phoenix, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Las Vegas
• New wording: 'preparations underway'
• Chart heading changed to 'Announced Near-Term Planned Robotaxi Coverage'
