Tesla extends unsupervised robotaxi rides across the entire Austin metro

On June 3, 2026 Tesla's robotaxi account said unsupervised Robotaxi service is now live in the entire Austin metro area. Austin officials put Tesla's operating fleet in the city at roughly 50 vehicles, against more than 250 Waymo vehicles in the same area. The step widens the service area, but the fleet is still small relative to the competition.
