Texas Instruments designs and manufactures analog and embedded processing semiconductors that it sells to electronics designers and manufacturers worldwide. Its chips power industrial equipment, cars, data-center power systems, personal electronics and communications gear. TI runs its own wafer fabs, so its capital spending and utilization drive its margins and cash flow.

How it makes money

TI sells chips through direct sales, distributors and its own website. Its analog chips manage power and convert signals, and they tend to be long-lived products that stay in customer designs for years. Its embedded processors are microcontrollers and processors that run software in products. Because TI makes most of its chips in its own factories, it earns high returns on capacity but must spend heavily on fabs. In 2025 it reported about 33% of revenue from industrial customers, about 33% from automotive, about 21% from personal electronics and about 9% from data center.
