What it is
Lets merchants list products inside AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with checkout in the chat or on the merchant's store. The merchant stays the merchant of record. Built on Shopify Catalog and the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), which Shopify announced in January 2026.
Why it matters to the stock. This is Shopify's bet that AI assistants become a sales channel for merchants. Traders should watch for disclosed order or GMV data, which the company has not yet reported.
